At LinkNow Media, we made the decision to help the Batshaw Youth and Family Centres this holiday season. As a workplace with a lot of families and single parents, this was something that greatly appealed to us. And, while everyone can get invested in helping needy children, for some, there may be other charities that appeal to you more.

So, how do you go about finding a charity that you can really feel good about fighting for, like us with the Batshaw Centres?

Animal Charities

Like children, animals are helpless and innocent, and the victims of many situations completely out of their control. Because of this, it’s our right to help them live better lives.

A few animal-related charities that receive high ratings for honesty in sending your donations where they belong are:

  • Animal Welfare Institute
  • Friends of Animals
  • Wildlife Conservation Society
  • PetSmart Charities
  • Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)

Or, you can go local and help no-kill animal shelters and humane societies in your own city.

Environmental Charities

There are very few of us who aren’t concerned about the planet right now. Donating to environmental conservation and protection is a great way to do your part to save the planet. Some high-impact environmental charities include:

  • Union of Concerned Scientists
  • Natural Resources Defense Council
  • Environmental Working Group
  • Greenpeace Fund
  • Friends of the Earth

Also think about starting an in-office campaign to conserve energy and resources, raising awareness for the cause.

Health Charities

Helping healthcare-related charities this holiday season will have an impact on people locally and all over the world.

  • Red Cross Society
  • ALS Society of Canada
  • Alzheimer Society Canada
  • Canadian Cancer Society
  • The Heart and Stroke Foundation

Unfortunately, there is no shortage of attacks on our health, but luckily there are people out there constantly fundraising for cures to all of them.

Education, Arts, and Culture

Animal rights, the environment, and our personal health all are big issues that directly affect lives. However, education, arts, and culture are also important parts of our society. Without these things, we would not be able to educate our youth or hold on to our history.

Education charities serve students and potential students of every age group, while arts and culture charities keep our museums, galleries, libraries, and performing arts societies alive.

If you’re invested in keeping our youth educated and keeping our culture and history alive, you can look at the following charities:

  • Educational Pathways International
  • Central Scholarship
  • Camfed, Campaign for Female Education
  • Royal Ontario Museum Foundation
  • UNITY Charity

There are hundreds more, including local options like galleries, museums, and universities.

Helping the World

At LinkNow Media, we feel that we are living pretty good lives. Everyone has their hardships, but if you are able to get up every day and go to a full-time job, you’re doing better than most. Because of this, we feel it’s our duty to give back, and we do so for the Batshaw Youth and Family Centres.

You can help us with our cause by visiting our donation page and sharing it on social media. And, if you’re interested in doing your own charitable research, there’s more options out there than you can imagine!
